HeartSpace BooksHeartSpace Books began as an idea after being asked to help edit Ellen-Louise Sutherland's book: "At Your Heart's Pace: An Offering of Essential Spiritual Exercises". It turned out to be a project I could sink my teeth into, but more than that, it was a project I could sink my heart into. Ellen's book simply teaches you how to be spiritual. That is, how to live your life with a spiritual focus, and concentrate on your personal sacred evolution. It does this without reference to any particular set of beliefs. You are free to follow the path your heart chooses, whether a religion, or alternative path, Ellen just shows you how to live spiritually in whatever context you are interested in. Did I say it was simple? In essence, the exercises are simple, but applying them is more difficult, at least for me, than I ever imagined. Of course, the person reading this may well be much more advanced than I am. But Ellen does not only provide the exercises, she also provides a spiritual toolbox, so that when you encounter a problem, e.g., persistent negative emotions such as fear or anger, you are supplied with the means for dissipating and eliminating them. The freedom this provides is amazing. Ellen has a lot of experience. She has studied and been involved in spiritual and other healing pursuits for decades doing work of many different kinds, from working with emotionally disturbed children, to pain and stress management consulting, equipping her to work with both individuals and groups address physical, emotional, mental and spiritual pain. She is accredited for EFT (Tapping Therapy), is a Reiki Master, has trained in Therapeutic Touch and Polarity Therapy. She has designed and taught workshops/courses on: spiritual principles, spiritual process, meditation, Reiki, forgiveness, stress management and relaxation, assertiveness, breath therapy, and more. This doesn't say enough. She meditates, she reads, she learns old and new ways, she tries things, she volunteers to help those who are dying, or reads every week at ACIMgather (A Course In Miracles). At times the light shines through her so strongly I want to cover my eyes. In other words, she is dedicated and committed to her work, she is engaged at all times, and she embodies the sentiment she expresses, that of “Being Spiritual”. Get her book.
